Help with Crate

Questions, bugs, or ideas: hello@blankslate.biz. We read every message and aim to reply within a few business days.

A barcode didn’t find my record

Not every pressing has a barcode in the public databases. Tap the round + button beside Scan to search by artist and album, or choose Enter manually, where you can also type the barcode number.

Importing from Discogs

In the ••• menu at the top right, choose Import from Discogs. If your Discogs collection is public, enter your username. If it’s private, export your collection from Discogs as a CSV file and choose Choose Export File…. By default Crate imports vinyl only and leaves out CDs, tapes, and files. Turn off Vinyl Only to bring everything in.

Duplicates

Crate flags the same album when you scan, search, or add. Choose Review Duplicates in the ••• menu to merge them into one record, or mark them Not Duplicates to clear them from the list.

Is my collection backed up?

Your collection lives on your iPhone and is included in your iPhone’s own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup). Crate doesn’t sync between devices.

Privacy

Crate doesn’t collect your data. The privacy policy explains what it sends to look records up.

How do I delete my data?

Delete Crate from your iPhone. That removes your collection and the lookup cache. We hold nothing else about you apart from emails you send us.
